This year, five New Tech students at Pinckney completed a partnership with the Community Foundation of Livingston Country where they designed a community service competition, Imagine Boldly,  for 11th and 12th graders in Livingston County. In preparation for the big showcase in February, the students traveled to WHMI’s Howell broadcasting center to spread the word about the event.

“This was important because we want members of our community to come and see the amazing accomplishments that their students have done,” senior Michael Griffin said. “They’re doing a lot of good for the community, and their efforts deserve to be recognized.”

Not only did the group get a chance to speak on the radio, but they also got a look at the inner-workings of a radio station.

“It was a very unique and extraordinary experience, and I never thought that I would be able to see that side of radio,” senior Brandon Loy said.

There will be an Imagine Boldly Finalist Showcase on Wednesday, February 12th at the Jane Tasch Performing Arts Theatre. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and the event is from 6:00-8:00 PM. Audience votes will be included in determining the competition’s final winner.
