Key Club holds canned food drive for Farley Hill food bank

In the spirit of Thanksgiving and giving back, Key Club is holding a canned and non-perishable food drive this week (11-11 through 11-15). All donated goods will be given to the Farley Hill food bank to help those in our own community who are in need.

“In the past our donations have gone to Gleaners and other food banks,” Key Club secretary Michael Griffin said. “This year we chose the Farley Hill food bank to send our donations to because we wanted to keep the resources local and really give back to our own community.”

To help incentivize students to give to the cause, the 7th hour class that brings in the most items will win a Costco cake party.

Any and all donations are appreciated, especially things like cereal, peanut butter, and pasta.

“Of course canned vegetables and things like that are needed and appreciated but it’s also nice to get those things so that the families in need can switch it up and have a pasta dinner or something like that every once in a while,” Key Club adviser Mrs. Strobe said. “The more creative the donations are, the better.”
