On May 4th through May 5th, Pinckney High school’s track and field team attended a conference meet. The meet went on for two days and involved fifty teams participating in the meet. The boy’s 4×2 relay consists of four people in a 200-meter relay. The Pinckney boy’s 4×2 relay team had Grayson Kelly, Nick Cain, Alex Wasyl, and Nolan Houghteling on it. The boy’s placed 5th out of the fifty teams. In the 110-meter relay, Dylan Deck took 5th and qualified for states.

“I trained extremely hard for this,” Deck said “and it really means a lot to me to even be qualified for states.”

The 4×400-meter relay is a relay race where teams of four compete against each other to complete a mile in the fastest time possible. Each team member runs one lap around the track (one quarter of a mile), or 400 meters.  The 4×400-meter relay team consists of Grayson Kelly, Nick Cain, Alex Wasyl, and Dylan Deck. Cain took 2nd place just behind Saline.

“I wasn’t surprised that Nick got second place,” Deck said “he trains hard everyday and is a great person overall.”
