Interview with Owen Warunek

Why do you make art?

Cause real life gets boring.

What type of art do you make?

I like to use bright colors and cool shading to create most of my pieces, and life like drawings. I also enjoy making music.

What type of materials do you use to make art?

Pencil mostly because I like to shade, and I also use colored pencils mostly. I really enjoy mixing colors to get the perfect shade.

Who or what inspires you to make art?

The world, and the way that some things look pleasing to my eyes. They inspire me to draw what I see.

Who is your favorite artist and why?

Bryant Giles because his art shows all perspectives of a certain topic rather than just one.

What artwork have you made that you are most proud?

Mostly all the music that I create, and I am proud because people like listening to it.

How do you know when your artwork is finished?

When I can’t think of anything else to add or when it looks finished and catches my eye.

Do you plan to make a career from art?

Yes somehow, in music and in drawings.

Would you ever sell your artwork?

Yes, because I gotta make money somehow and I don’t want to work in an office job. I want to make money independently and have fun doing it.

What project are you working on right now?

I am working on a song. I am also working on an art project that resembles a video game character from a made up game.

What is the most important tool for making your artwork?

My ability to create ideas through other ideas leading to a large symphony of ideas that come together harmoniously.

What themes do you pursue?

Spooky stuff, but also like cool street style artwork and music. And swag.

Do you ever listen to music while making art? Does it make you more creative?

Yes, all the time, it depends if it makes me more creative. Some types of music are more distracting than other types .
